A playful combination.

Pairing plants of contrasting colors and patterns is the mark of a confident gardener. Or a playful one.

The Rhododendron’s classic polka-dot clusters of pink and green nestle in above the Japanese Forest grass’s contemporary flowing blades of yellow and green. It takes a creative gardener to place them together.
Their complementary colors oppose each other on an artist’s color wheel. But the visually exciting combination of colors and shapes proves that opposites attract.
When you take a walk through a garden, slow down and look around. The slower you go, the more you learn.
GARDEN WALK photographs were made for the South Bend Art Museum Art League during their annual “Arts in Bloom” Garden Walks. The images were used for social media, promotions and education.
